An ITN video of Duffy talking about her relationship can be seen here or below:
When asked how she met the Osprey scrum-half, 25-year-old Duffy said: "He asked me out on a date. I'd never been on a date before. I was so nervous. I just went one night and kind of fell in love I guess."
The platinum selling singer went on: "He's softened me again. I got a little bit hard around the edges, having to survive the big wide world, so it's nice to have someone to put his arm around me."
It's been a Brit rough for DuffIT'S unusual for someone to win three Brit awards then disappear off the face of the planet.
But that's exactly what DUFFY did - we haven't seen hide nor hair of her since her success with debut album Rockferry. Now the Welsh warbler admits she became a recluse after the Brits because the pressure got too much.
Duffy, who popped in to present a gong at the Glamour mag awards, told me: "It got a bit scary and overwhelming. I just had to go away and remind myself what I was doing it for. It's the music that kept me going.
"In music you have to go back to your roots, you have to make music from the heart.
"And so I guess I had to hide away."
The singer's been holed up in a New York studio all this time in any case, recording her second collection.
But from now on we will be seeing much more of the chart-topper because her new album is almost ready.
At Tuesday night's event she added: "It got a little bit too much last time actually - and I was trying to keep a sight on who I was. I've had a lonely few months."
Really? I thought her rugby player fella MIKE PHILLIPS had been keeping her company.
I'm not the biggest fan of Duffy's music but I quite admire her ability to just disappear like that.
I wish a few nonebrities would take a leaf out of her book.
Are you listening PARIS HILTON, LINDSAY LOHAN . . . I'm talking to you.
