Vodafone Live Music Awards: Duffy, Kate Nash, Amy Winehouse and Estelle to battle it out for Best Live Female Award at the Vodafone Live Music Awards
This year's Vodafone Live Music Awards shortlist announcement sees Duffy go head to head with Kate Nash, Estelle and last year's winner,Amy Winehouse, in the coveted Best Live Female category.Elsewhere, Mark Ronson, Dizzee Rascal, Paul Weller and Morrissey will battle it out for Best Live Male whilst Arctic Monkeys will have to hand over their crown of Best Live Act to one of this year's nominees; Kaiser Chiefs, Muse, The Verve and Primal Scream.
The Vodafone Live Music Awards nominations have been put together by a panel of music industry insiders including representatives from major record labels. The public will now have the opportunity to vote from the shortlisted nominees for Best Live Return, XFM Live Breakthrough,4Music Festival of the Year and the Sony Ericsson Tour of the Year artists by visiting www.vodafone.co.uk/music or by texting MUSIC to 61500.The shortlist was announced by presenter Dave Berry moments before an exclusive performance by Ladyhawke and Guillemots at theWilmingtonArms, Islington.
The third Vodafone Live Music Awards will take place on 18th September at the CarlingAcademyBrixton, Londonand will bring together the music industry and fans alike to celebrate the booming UKlive music scene. Fans will have the chance of winning exclusive tickets to the Vodafone Live Music Awards by entering their details now on the Vodafone Live Music website (www.vodafone.co.uk/music). Tickets to the Awards are free and available to all, not just Vodafone customers.
This Vodafone Live Music Awards mark the culmination of this year's Vodafone TBA gigs which saw acclaimed acts performing in mini festivals. This year has seen stunning performances from The Feeling, The Hoosiers and Sugababes at Edinburgh's PrincesStreetGardensand still to come are N.E.R.D., McFly and The Streets who are playing on the legendary Brightonbeach on 10th August.
The Vodafone Live Music Awards will be broadcast on Channel 4 in September, details to be announced shortly.

So it's Duffy vs The Brit School.
Since nearly all these awards are politically - and therefore corruptly - driven, I ain't holding my breath that Duffy will win.
If she doesn't win, then they can shove that award where the sun don't shine.
Perhaps Duffy should punch one of her fans, that might help.
Seriously there should be no contest as far as live act goes .... but as you say the old Brit school network is as corrupt as some of those Eurovision votes
