1 Jun: Telstar finally gets a release this month

Last year it was supposed that Telstar the movie (about Joe Meek) was going to be released. "Please Stay" was recorded by Duffy for the soundtrack of the movie. As those of you who have been following my blog will know, the soundtrack tracklist was announced on the Telstar movie website last September. This already seemed relatively late since Duffy was already singing "Please Stay" at her live gigs starting from May/June 2008 and she introduced the song by implying the movie would be out soon....

Anyway the movie website is now claiming June 19 2009 as the release date for Telstar the movie, so the soundtrack cd featuring "Please Stay" will be just around the corner... Since this track was already released on the deluxe edition last November, please excuse me if I appear rather underwhelmed by this news.

What we'd like please Mr Record Label is a nice big and juicy official live cd/dvd featuring Duffy. Maybe with a couple of Duffy's covers on there and/or acoustic versions of some Rockferry songs...

Duffy must have made a fortune for Universal, album recorded on the cheap (thankfully), no huge expensive videos .... least they could do would be to come up with a DVD.

BTW I'm looking forward to the release of the film "An Education" in October with Smoke Without Fire on the closing titles. Carey Mulligan is being tipped for an Oscar for this one.
