Chart topper DUFFY has had a breakdown.
But don't worry the sexy singer hasn't succumbed to showbiz excess - it was just her car that went phut.
Duffy - whose album Rockferry is set to join single Mercy at No.1 today - was on her way to a Bristol gig when the clutch packed up on her Audi A3.
A source told us: "She was terrified she'd let the audience down. They're very important to her as she wants to thank them for getting to the top of the charts." The Welsh beauty, 23, had to wait on the hard shoulder of the M4 with manager Jeannette Lee and a pal.
But a very nice AA man called Alan Price dashed to the rescue - and took them straight to the venue, arriving with ten minutes to spare.
Alan, 49, who recognised the singer from TV, said: "I've helped concertgoers but never one who was due on stage - and certainly not the UK's No1."
